Pogo Alert+ works in conjunction with a network of twenty four GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites which constantly orbit the earth. When powered up, Pogo Alert+ will lock onto at least three of these satellites, usually within a few seconds. Once lock has been achieved, triangulation calculations are used to determine the position of the device on the road network to an accuracy of less than five metres. As the Pogo user drives around, his position is constantly updated and this position is continually compared with a database (integral to Pogo Alert+) containing the GPS coordinates of ALL fixed installation safety camera locations, often-used police mobile laser sites, accident blackspots, congestion charging zones and schools. If the user comes into range of one of these locations an audible and visual warning will be provided in plenty of time, allowing the vehicle speed to be reduced if necessary.
The database within Pogo Alert+ should be updated regularly (by connecting the device to a PC/Mac with internet connection, using the supplied cable) in order that the user is provided with the most up-to-date information available.
Pogo Alert+ is supplied as standard with an infra red laser detector module (removable); this provides protection against police mobile laser traps and “safety camera vans”.
Why risk losing your licence, your job, your freedom and, maybe, everything else? You should only drive with the best licence protection system available – a Pogo system.
