Is it legal to own and use?

The simple answer is yes, all Pogo products are legal under all existing and proposed legislation in the UK.

Origin Technologies Limited will never sell products which are illegal to own or use at the time of sale. If pending legislation casts doubt over future legality of products or accessories, we will endeavour to provide customers with the latest information so that they may make informed choices and decisions.

It was perceived for some time that the use of radar detectors was illegal under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949, but this was ruled incorrect on 29 January 1998, after which it became clear that radar detectors were legal in England.

Legality of Products Under New Road Safety Bill
The section of the recent Road Safety Bill applicable to laser & radar detection is expected to become law in 2008 and is likely to ban certain types of speed trap detector. This Bill has been subject to widespread confusion and misinterpretation. We have consulted directly with the Department for Transport and established that the Origin b2, b2 Solo and Pogo products will remain legal, but many competitive products will not. If the Bill becomes law, it will be necessary to remove the detachable laser detector supplied with the Origin b2 and Pogo Alert (this only takes a few seconds to remove), but the main unit will remain fully legal. Pogo/Origin users therefore benefit from the maximum protection for their lives and licences that is permitted in law, both now and in the future.
